  • Start from the most novice for the most accessibility. Primary goal should be attracting more new users first, and only second to develop the skills of existing users.
  • The document should be both a lecture and an interactive PD patch.
  • The document should be organized into easy to understand chunks, with no more than three objects being introduced on each page. Each page should be hackable so that the isolated object examples can be hacked together to create more complex examples (by the user)
  • Examples should be as concrete as possible for novices. (visual or sound output)
  • Pages should be abstractions that can get called into containers (top-level patches) that structure the curriculum. The same abstractions would then be organized in different ways depending on the length of the workshop and the level of the students.
  • After novice intro each page should imply a problem that the next page solves. Same goes for each isolated example of object usage on the same page.
  • focus on problem solving
  • ALL objects in an example patch/exercise should have already been introduced.
