Last year the VideoIO project was accepted for Goggles SoC. However, since it was quite a big project not all goals were fullfilled. The current code can be found in http://pd-gem.cvs.sourceforge.net/pd-gem/videoIO/.
This existing project should be extended with the following features:
- porting/compiling/testing on Windows and Mac and make it really cross-platform
- making externals for PDP and Gridflow (ATM only externals for Gem exist)
- sound support for DeviceRead and FileWrite
- implementing a DeviceWrite (e.g. firewire output) with gstreamer
- implementing other backends than gstreamer (directx, quicktime, ...)
- speed optimization
- testing and bug fixes
- easy to install packages and inclusion into the pd-extended buildsystem
